Case Study – Vaillant eco tec plus 831 boiler repair
We were called out to this customers boiler on the 14/05/2020 after she noticed the towels were wet in the airing cupboard and that the pressure had dropped on the boiler.
Upon arrival the engineer removed the cover and noticed water in the bottom of the boiler which had pooled and found it’s way out of the casing. Once the water was removed with the wet hoover we set about looking for the leak. These boilers have a lot of plastic parts at the bottom on the right hand and left hand manifolds and these are normally the issue. After turning the heating on the engineer noticed a leak coming from the diverter valve (see the circled part in the pictures) this couldn’t be repaired so we priced up a replacement part.
Due to delivery delays with COVID 19 we returned to fit a new brass diverter valve on the 18/05/2020. The job to replace the part took around an hour from start to finish and the boiler was tested for correct operation on completion. With the new part being brass it removes the risk of it leaking and it should now last the lifetime of the boiler.
